This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do on NDX. It is part of, and incorporated into, the NDX Terms of Use. Capitalized terms have the meanings given there. The Terms of Use's provisions — including its dispute-resolution, arbitration, governing-law (Wyoming), venue, and limitation-of-liability sections — apply to this AUP. Violating this AUP can result in content removal, feature restrictions, or suspension or termination of your account.
NDX exists to help collectors scan, identify, value, and organize trading cards. Use it for that. Be honest about what's in your collection, and — when community features arrive — treat other collectors the way you'd want to be treated at a card show.
1. General Rules
When using the Services, you must not:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, or encourage others to do so.
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Misrepresent your identity, impersonate any person or organization, or operate more than one account without our written permission.
- Access or use anyone else's account without authorization, or solicit other users' credentials or personal information.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or technical features of the Services, or probe or test their vulnerability without authorization.
- Interfere with the operation of the Services, including by transmitting malware, overloading infrastructure, or disrupting other users' access.
- Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated means to access the Services or extract data (including catalog, pricing, or collection data), except through interfaces we expressly provide and document.
- Compile, create, populate, or maintain any database, dataset, or offline copy of catalog, pricing, or card data obtained through the Services.
- Harvest, mine, or collect information about other users, or use content from the Services (including other users' card images) for your own purposes without authorization.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services or data obtained from them (including bulk pricing or catalog data) without our written agreement.
- Use the Services to develop a competing product or to train machine-learning models without our written permission.
- Interfere with, manipulate, or fraudulently interact with advertisements, third-party listings, or affiliate links in the Services — including automated, incentivized, or repeated artificial clicks or impressions.
2. Scanning and Collection Rules
- Scan trading cards. The camera and identification features are for trading cards and similar collectibles. Trading cards that depict athletes and other people are, of course, fine. What you must not scan or upload are photographs of actual people (yourself or others), identity documents, financial instruments, or other sensitive personal material — the camera is for cards, not people or paperwork.
- Be honest about your collection. Do not deliberately misidentify cards, manipulate condition or grading information, or fabricate collection data to mislead others (for example, to inflate a portfolio you plan to share or sell).
- Counterfeits and alterations. Do not use NDX to catalog items you know to be counterfeit, reprinted, or altered as though they were authentic, and do not use the Services to help pass off fakes — including using NDX identification results or price estimates to market a counterfeit or altered card as genuine. If a future feature allows sharing or listing cards, counterfeit and unauthorized replica items will be prohibited even if disclosed as such.
- AI-generated imagery. Do not submit AI-generated or materially edited card images as though they were photographs of cards you own.
3. Content Standards (Profiles Today, Community Features When They Launch)
These rules apply to all content you submit — usernames and profile information today, and posts, comments, messages, images, and listings if community, trading, or marketplace features launch. Objectionable content and abusive behavior are prohibited. You must not submit content that:
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or defames any person, or encourages violence or self-harm.
- Is hateful or discriminatory toward any person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or sexualizes minors in any way (we report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement).
- Is deceptive, fraudulent, or intended to scam other users, including price manipulation, shill activity, or fake sale histories.
- Contains spam, chain letters, pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes, or repeated unsolicited promotion.
- Discloses another person's private information (doxxing) without consent.
- Contains malware or links designed to phish or harm users.
- Solicits donations, runs unauthorized giveaways/sweepstakes, or promotes gambling, except through features we explicitly provide for such purposes.
When community features launch, NDX will provide in-app tools to report content and block users. We review reports and act on violations promptly. Do not evade blocks or enforcement actions (including by creating new accounts).
4. Transactions (If and When Offered)
NDX is not a marketplace today. If trading or marketplace features launch, additional rules will apply and will be published before those features are available. At a minimum: no selling counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented items; no taking negotiations off-platform to evade protections or fees; no fee avoidance, shill bidding, or feedback manipulation; and complete transactions you commit to.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, including warning you, removing content, limiting features, suspending or terminating your account, and reporting to law enforcement where required. For serious violations — counterfeiting-related fraud, CSAM, threats of violence, or attacks on the Services — suspension may be immediate and permanent. Where the violation is minor and made in good faith, we will generally warn you first and tell you what to fix.

6. Reporting Violations
To report a violation of this AUP, use the in-app reporting tools (where available) or email [email protected]. To report content that infringes your copyright, follow the DMCA process in Section 10 of the Terms of Use.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP as the Services evolve (particularly when community, trading, or marketplace features launch). Material changes will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
